Rainbow

A rainbow - one of the wonders of the sky, which seems to physically connect heaven and earth - is a symbol of revelation in many cultures.

In Greek and Roman mythology, Iris is the goddess of the rainbow and the messenger of the gods. The colored part of our eyes, the iris, is named after this goddess.

In Christianity, the seven colors of the rainbow stand for the seven sacraments and the seven gifts of the Holy Ghost. The rainbow is also the symbol of reconciliation.

Legend says that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Ancient Celtic coins were often called little "rainbow bowls."
