Parasol
In China, the collapsible parasol has been used for more than 2000 years.
By parasol, we don't mean the kind that is popular in the West. The Chinese parasol is one of the eight symbols of Buddhism. It stands for dignity and is a symbol of the virtue of a civil servant. In many pictures an umbrella is held over a person of honor.
The parasol is also used during wedding ceremonies as a shield for the groom, and a parasol is suspended over the bed of a child for protection, support, and help.
Parasols frequently are artfully decorated and brightly painted, and are very popular as decorative objects.
Applications:
- Depending on the motif, suspended in corners to activate the area.
- When placing the parasol, make sure that the decorated side is always visible, regardless of whether that is the inside or outside.
