Feng Shui Health Sector - Cures and Enhancers

Beijing

Feng Shui Health Sector relates to all aspects of health and life areas. As we know, without good health, we will have very little in our life.

Chi energy needs to flow unhindered through your space and by blocking this portion of the room, you are also not allowing the different sectors to interact. An exception to this would be if a view from a window proves a major distraction when you enter a particular room. There could be cutting chi entering through the window, an unsightly vista, or a large blank wall. By placing a focus in the centre of the room such as a beautiful rug, or a low coffee table with a central ornament, your eye is distracted from the view while it focuses on this feature.

Any furniture placed in the centre of the room needs to be fairly unobtrusive and certainly should not have any sharp edges that would cause cutting chi. Check the light fixture in the centre of the room or your home. Many modern lampshades and fittings come to a sharp point at the base. This creates a downward arrowhead pointing at the floor, which is a disturbing source of cutting chi. Having cutting chi right in the centre of your room does not set the tone! Colours that support this central sector, which is associated with the element Earth/Soil, would be the various shades of yellow including orange, gold and light brown.

Nurture Your Abundance

You can powerfully nurture your abundance by paying attention to the center areas of your spaces. The center is important because it is connects and unifies all the parts. The center controls and provides energy to the perimeter areas, which in turn feed energy back to it. This has practical implications.

In a battle, if a flank is crumbling but the center still holds, there is a chance that the army will survive. But if the center gives way, the army is scattered and the battle will be lost. So, protect the center at all costs.

In personal chi cultivation, you focus on the center of the body, or the dan tien) located three finger widths below your navel. This is your body's main energy center. The energy you harvest from qigong, or energy cultivation exercises is stored here. An abundance of chi in your dan tien gives you vitality, health, and joy. If you deplete this energy, you can weaken your body, and impair your health and vitality.

The same is true for your dwelling and office. The center is "central" in Feng 5hui. It is where all the energies in the space mingle and interact. The center of your space is vital not only for your wealth, but also for health, relationships, and other areas of life. (The Bagua designates this area as Health, but it also refers to the unity of all areas of life.)

The center affects all areas of your life, so cures at the center can be very powerful. They can strengthen your core energy, and open the flow of solutions that were previously blocked. You can use center cures when you have a nagging problem you can't solve, when several areas of your life need help simultaneously, or when you are feeling at your wits' end and don't know which way to turn.

Curing the Center

When assessing the center area, first check for any significant negative placements, which can harm your abundance. The most detrimental are a bathroom or kitchen in the center.

A bathroom located in the center may cause household finances to go "down the tubes". At minimum, a bathroom in the center can use the same cures as given above for a bathroom in the Wealth area. Another solution is not to use this bathroom, especially the toilet, if practical. If you must use a central bathroom regularly, the cure is to fully mirror all of the room's interior walls. (Sitting on the toilet was never so glorious.) If one wall is a tub or shower, you can install a mirrored shower door as one of the mirrored walls. An upstairs bathroom in either the center of the upper floor, or over the center of the main floor, can also benefit from this cure.

A stove in the center of the home can lead to money and health problems, as well as fires or accidents. Hang a crystal sphere or a metal wind chime over the stove while visualizing peace, safety, and increased abundance.

If the center of your home or office has no obvious Feng Shui bloopers, you can still do beneficial cures in this area. Place fresh green plants to add new life; use nine healthy green plants in the center as a potent solution. (Avoid banyan trees and giant redwoods, as the hole needed in the ceiling is not cost effective, and might be another drain!) Another good cure is to hang a wind chime or crystal sphere in the center.
