Crane

The crane is the messenger of spring and the symbol of rejuvenation. A crane's wing was used as an amulet against tiredness and exhaustion, because people admired it for untiring strength in flight.

In China, it is considered the symbol of long life and is often depicted together with the pine tree and a stone, to triple the symbol of longevity.

The crane is also the symbol of wisdom. Expressions like "heavenly as a crane," or "divine as a crane" point to this characteristic. A picture of a crane perched on a rock and looking at the sun symbolizes an important authority who can see everything. A crane flying towards the sun expresses the desire for social advancement.
