Feng Shui in the Corrodors
Corridors and other open spaces in a house are very important for the smooth flow of chi. If your bedroom or office is located at the end of a long corridor, then the chi rushes through the corridor and can have a negative effect on the people occupying that room. You should place attractive objects in the corridor to slow down the rushing chi, so that it will meander and slowly, reach the room, energizing the areas on its way. Depending on the breadth of the corridor, you could place potted plants, or hang beautiful pictures or paintings on the walls, or place a small cabinet. The biggest problem about long and narrow corridors is, if not lit properly, they trap yin energy, or cause the existing chi to become stale. There cannot be anything more inauspicious. I usually recommend that, if possible, corridors should be made to curve and they should be well lit. The lighting for corridors should be designed to stimulate feng shui energies. There should not be any dingy corners where beneficial energy stagnates and becomes harmful energy. Wherever possible natural light should be allowed to come into the corridors; where artificial light supplements natural light, it should be gentle and indirect.
