Clear the Clutter

Clutter is dead energy. It manifests as stacks of stagnant chi on the floor, in the hallways, on the shelves, in the closets. Removing this stagnation enlivens the entire house and increases energetic circulation throughout. You can turn a dead listing into a live one by clearing the clutter.

A good place to start is on the floor. Clear hallways, walkways, and staircases so that it is easy to move from room to room and floor to floor. This will get things moving and make the next step easier. Second, remove as many objects as possible from tabletops and counters. This will allow light to reflect off these surfaces, the rooms to feel brighter and bigger, and energy to flow more freely throughout the house.

You can cut down on the appearance of clutter by thinning out objects sitting on open shelves.

Cover open shelving by installing doors or hanging fabric over it. This includes the garage storage shelves. Every little visual object has chi and can create chaos in the space. If the buyer feels overwhelmed or distracted by all the clutter, they will not make an offer.

Clutter also gives the impression of dirt and neglect. it will send the buyer a message that the house needs maintenance or repair, even if this is not the case. Encourage the seller to start moving by packing up the clutter and minimizing the "stuff" in the house.

By clearing the clutter, your listing will appeal to more people and you will have a larger pool of buyers.
