Buddha

Gautama Siddhartha renounced his royal status in order to live a life of meditation 2500 years ago. Sitting under a tree, he at last found the reason for all suffering and sorrow. Then he became the Buddha, and his teachings became a worldwide philosophy. The life of Buddha, the Enlightened One, is the oldest example of how we can free ourselves from sorrow and guilt without divine intervention. Buddhism is one of the oldest teachings of redemption in the world, and to this day it has millions of followers. Buddhism is the path to self-enlightenment, serenity and peace not by turning way from the world, but by making it possible to live in it. Buddha changed yoga exercises and meditation - which were part of an austere and world-renouncing lifestyle - into practical exercises meant to diminish the trials and tribulations of the everyday life. Since Buddhism has become well known in the West, we, too, can use meditating Buddhas as symbols of enlightenment and absolute wisdom. The various statues and pictures of Buddha that are available stand for different aspects on the road to enlightenment (such as practical wisdom, generosity, wholeness), and can be used accordingly. Applications:
- For a meditation corner, altar, or room, as a symbol of inner wisdom and self-knowledge
- To support a goal and express the meaning of life.
